6·3 춘천시장 선거 출마를 선언한 변지량 전 강원도민복지특별자문관이 오는 2월 28일(토) 오전 10시, 춘천교육문화관에서 정책비전제안서 《춘천미래 100년 재설계》 출판기념회를 갖는다.
변 출마예정자는 이 자리에서 춘천의 향후 100년을 내다본 도시 대전환 구상을 시민들에게 직접 제시한다. 지역 정가에서는 이를 육동한 시정에 대한 본격적인 정책 도전장으로 받아들이고 있다.
《춘천미래 100년 재설계》에는 ▲중도 이궁 복원과 역사문화 관광벨트 ▲캠프페이지 대전환 ▲AI·첨단산업 중심 도시 ▲수변 고층 복합도시 ▲상시 문화·관광도시 전략 등, 현 시정과는 결이 다른 구조적·장기적 도시 재설계 방안이 담겼다.
정치권 관계자는 “육동한 시장이 현재 시정 지속운영과 안정성을 강조한다면, 변지량 후보는 도시의 판 자체를 바꾸는 미래 전략을 전면에 내세우고 있다”며 “춘천 유권자들은 두 비전 가운데 하나를 선택하게 될 가능성이 크다”고 말했다.
변 전 자문관은 “이번 출판기념회는 출마를 향한 준비 과정이자, 현 시정에 대한 정책적 대안 제시”라며 “춘천이 지금의 속도로는 안 된다는 시민들의 문제의식을 정책으로 구체화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
