포천시 소흘읍주민자치회는 지난 11일 소흘읍주민자치센터에서 성인 문해교육 프로그램인 ‘제8회 솔모루학당 졸업식’을 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 졸업식은 초등 및 중학 문해 과정을 성실히 이수한 학습자들에게 교육청 학력 인정을 공인하는 학력 인정서를 수여하고, 그간의 노고를 축하하기 위해 마련됐다. 이번 졸업식에서는 초등 과정 12명, 중학 과정 16명 등 총 28명의 어르신이 학력 인정서를 받으며 기쁨의 눈물을 흘렸다.

솔모루학당은 소흘읍주민자치회가 직접 운영하는 성인 문해교육 프로그램이다. 기초 학습 시기를 놓친 주민들에게 한글 교육을 비롯한 기초 학습 능력을 높여주고, 공식적인 학력 취득의 기회를 제공하며 지역 내 평생학습의 든든한 기반이 되고 있다.
김상혁 소흘읍주민자치회장은 “솔모루학당은 단순한 글공부를 넘어 주민들에게 공식적인 학력을 제공하는 매우 의미 있는 과정”이라며 “앞으로도 초·중·고교 과정을 지속적으로 운영해 배움을 갈망하는 주민이라면 누구나 소외되지 않도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 약속했다.

포천시 관계자 또한 “어려운 여건 속에서도 배움의 끈을 놓지 않고 끝까지 과정을 이수한 졸업생 여러분이 진심으로 자랑스럽다”며 “솔모루학당이 평생학습도시 포천을 만드는 소중한 밑거름이 되길 기대한다”고 축하를 전했다.
