<브레이크뉴스 홍천 = 이건문 기자> 홍천군이 민족 대명절 설을 앞두고 귀성객과 주민들의 발길이 이어질 전통시장의 안전 확보를 위해 팔을 걷어붙였다.
홍천군은 지난 11일 홍천 전통시장(중앙시장)을 대상으로 소방서, 민간 전문가, 보건소 등 유관 기관과 함께하는 ‘민·관 합동 안전 및 위생 점검’을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
이번 점검은 겨울철 화재 위험이 높은 전통시장의 특성을 고려해 화재 취약 요인을 사전에 차단하는 동시에, 명절 성수 식품의 위생 관리까지 챙겨 군민들이 안심하고 장을 볼 수 있는 환경을 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.

합동 점검반은 ▲소방 시설 정상 작동 여부 및 피난 통로 확보 상태 ▲전기·가스 시설의 안전성 ▲난방 기기 사용 실태 등 대형 사고로 이어질 수 있는 위험 요소를 집중적으로 살폈다. 특히 홍천군보건소가 함께 참여해 시장 내 식품 취급 업소의 조리 환경과 영업장 청결 상태를 점검하고 현장 지도를 병행하며 실효성을 높였다.

군은 점검 결과 경미한 사항은 현장에서 즉시 시정 조치했으며, 보수가 필요한 노후 시설 등에 대해서는 명절 전까지 보완을 완료하도록 관리 주체에 강력히 권고했다.
민용만 홍천군 재난안전과장은 “설 명절에는 많은 인파가 몰리는 만큼 철저한 사전 점검과 예방 활동만이 사고를 막는 길”이라며 “군민 여러분께서도 시장 이용 중 위험 요인을 발견하면 즉시 안전신문고 등을 통해 제보해 주시길 바란다”고 당부했다.
