전남도는 21일 한국공항공사, 전남관광재단과 함께 '무안국제공항 연계 여행업계 지원 및 전남 관광 활성화'를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 무안공항의 운항 중단 장기화로 경영난을 겪고 있는 지역 여행업계의 부담을 덜어주고, 불확실한 운영 여건 속에서도 관광 수요를 선제적으로 회복하기 위해 마련됐다.
이번 협약에 따라 세 기관은 실질적이고 가시적인 성과 도출을 위해 4대 핵심 분야에서 긴밀히 협력하기로 했다.
먼저, 지방공항 국제노선을 활용하는 여행사에 대한 인센티브를 공동 운영한다. 이는 항공 노선 재개 시점에 맞춰 여행사들이 공격적으로 상품을 기획할 수 있도록 유도하는 '마중물' 역할을 할 것으로 보인다.
또한, 단순한 상품 개발을 넘어 온·오프라인 홍보마케팅 협력을 통해 전남 관광의 인지도를 높이고, 각 기관이 보유한 데이터를 공유함으로써 타깃별 맞춤형 마케팅을 전개할 방침이다.

중장기적인 관광 생태계 조성을 위한 투자도 이어진다. 국비 10억 원이 확보된 '전남 관광기업 지원센터 조성사업'을 통해 관광기업 육성, 창업 지원, 전문인력 양성 등 산업 기반을 공고히 할 계획이다.
더불어 외래 관광객 유치를 위해 13억 원의 예산을 배정, 해외 현지 홍보와 공동 판촉, 전남관광설명회 등 공격적인 마케팅을 펼쳐 개발된 여행상품이 실제 모객으로 이어지도록 지원한다.
