(함평=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전남 함평군이 군민 평생교육의 질을 높이고 지역 인재를 양성하기 위해 본격적인 행보에 나섰다.
함평군은 지난 19일 (사)한국지방자치경영연구소(이하 연구소)와 ‘군민 평생교육(향부숙) 위탁 교육 추진을 위한 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다고 20일 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 올해 ‘향부숙’ 교육 운영을 위한 공고한 협력체계를 구축하고, 지역 내 평생학습 기반을 강화하여 군민들에게 수준 높은 교육 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
협약에 따라 양 기관은 군민의 자기 계발과 공동체 성장을 위한 다채로운 교육 프로그램을 운영한다. 특히 단순 교육에 그치지 않고 ‘주민 강사 및 주민 학습 네트워크’ 확산을 위해 긴밀히 협력할 계획이다.
올해 교육은 오는 3월부터 12월까지 매월 1회 정기적으로 진행된다. 특히 단순 교양 강좌에 그치지 않고, 우리 지역의 문제를 고민하고 대안을 제시하는 ‘지방자치 정책 연구’ 등 심도 있는 공동체 역량 강화 과정이 포함되어 있어 기대를 모으고 있다.
함평군 관계자는 “향부숙 교육은 함평의 미래를 이끌어갈 지역 인재 양성의 소중한 밑거름이 될 것”이라며 “군민이 실질적으로 체감할 수 있는 평생교육 프로그램을 운영해 지역 공동체의 역량을 한층 높이겠다”고 밝혔다.
