(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전라남도교육청이 퇴직 교직원의 전문성을 활용한 ‘선배 교직원 교육지원 봉사활동’ 사업의 현장을 찾아 봉사자들을 격려하고 현장의 목소리를 들었다.
전남교육청은 지난 2일 순천대석초등학교를 방문해 현재 활발하게 활동 중인 봉사자들을 격려하고, 학생생활지도 및 도서관 운영지원 분야에서의 성과를 직접 살폈다.
‘선배 교직원 교육지원 봉사활동’은 퇴직 교직원의 오랜 경험과 전문성을 활용해 학생들의 안정적인 학교생활을 돕는 사업이다. 현재 목포, 순천, 나주, 영광, 화순, 고흥 등 6개 지역 봉사센터에 총 278명의 자원봉사자가 등록되어 있으며, 올해 5월 사업 시작 이래 총 2,315회의 봉사활동이 이루어졌다.
특히, 순천대석초등학교는 학생생활지도와 도서관 운영지원 분야에서 눈에 띄는 성과를 보이며 모범사례로 꼽혔다.

전남교육청은 봉사활동이 안정적으로 확대될 수 있도록 지원체계를 강화하고, 학교 현장에서 체감할 수 있는 교육활동 지원 모델로 발전시켜 나갈 계획이다.
