'만국초청 계시록특강'이 종교지도자들의 화합과 교류의 메카로 급부상하고 있다. 신천지예수교 증거장막성전(총회장 이만희·이하 신천지예수교회)은 지난 10월 30일부터 3박 4일간 진행된 ‘제3기 만국초청 계시록특강’을 성공적으로 마쳤다고 6일 밝혔다.
세계 종교인 대화 플랫폼으로 자리매김
신약 계시록의 예언과 성취를 중심으로 종교 간 대화와 평화를 모색하는 국제 교류 프로그램인 '만국초청 계시록특강(만국특강)'은 2024년 2월 1기를 시작으로 매 기수 참가국과 종단이 확대되며 ‘세계 종교인들의 대화 플랫폼’으로 자리매김했다.
이번 3기 특강은 ‘성경이 이끄는 이해의 길, 종교가 함께 걷는 평화의 길’을 주제로 열렸으며, 59개국 440명의 종교지도자를 포함한 1,000명 이상이 참석해 역대 최대 규모를 기록했다.

요한계시록으로 하나 된 종교인들
3기에 참여한 기독교, 불교, 이슬람, 힌두교, 유교 등 다양한 종단의 지도자들은 신천지예수교를 통해 배운 ‘진리의 말씀’이 종교의 벽을 넘어 인류가 하나 되는 길임을 확인했다고 입을 모았다.
율려성원 스님(대한불교 조계종 회의 회주)은 “신천지가 발전하는 이유는 ‘말씀의 위력’이며, 이 말씀이 종교의 벽을 넘어 인류가 하나 되는 길임을 확인했다”고 말했다.
에스와티니의 이슬람 지도자 모하메드 우스만은 “신천지 교회는 평화와 진리를 전하는 커리큘럼이 완벽하다”고 호평했다.
높은 만족도는 학습 열기로 이어져, 교육 말미에 치러진 ‘세계 종교지도자 계시록 경시대회’에는 60개국 317명이 참여했으며 이 중 154명이 만점을 기록했다. 최종적으로 7주간의 교육과 시험을 통과한 총 125명(국내 42명, 해외 83명)이 명예성경교사로 임명됐다.
감동 넘어 실천으로… 평화 협력 다짐
이번 만국특강은 계시록 강의 외에도 연합 기도회, 성경 퀴즈, 연극, 라운드 테이블 등 다양한 교류의 장을 마련해 종교지도자들이 공감과 화합을 체험하도록 했다. 한 주지스님은 “불교에서는 상상도 못하는 일들을 해내고 있다. 많은 것을 배우는 시간이었다”고 감탄했다.
특강의 목적인 ‘평화 실천’ 사례도 공유됐다. 2기 참석자인 캄보디아 문화종교부 불교고등교육부 국장 속 분트은 스님은 자국 불교사원에서 계시록 초청강연을 개최하여 지난해 120명에서 올해 850명이 참석하는 대규모 행사로 성장시켰으며, 이 행사에서 215명이 종교 평화 다짐서에 서명했다고 밝혔다. 속 분트은 스님은 내년 1월 ‘종교평화교육캠프’를 개최할 계획이다.
3기 참석자 전원은 결의문을 낭독하며 “평화와 진리를 전하는 사명을 완수하고, 인류를 구원의 길로 인도하겠다”고 평화 실천을 다짐했다.
