‘전국 지방자치단체 일자리 대상’은 지방고용노동지청의 1차 평가와 고용노동부의 2차 평가를 거쳐 일자리 대책 추진 실적이 우수한 지자체에 수여되는 상으로, 일자리 분야에서 가장 권위 있는 평가로 꼽힌다.
올해 심사에서 영덕군은 계획·집행·성과 전 부문에서 높은 점수를 받았다. 특히 지방 소멸 위기에 대응해 청년들에게 공유주거를 제공하고 취·창업을 지원한 정책, 청년 커뮤니티 ‘알뜰살뜰 청년 일자리 플러스’ 운영을 통한 청년 유입 기반 마련 등이 좋은 평가를 이끌었다.

김광열 영덕군수는 “산업 기반이 부족한 상황에서도 2년 연속 최우수상을 수상한 것은 군민들의 목소리를 행정에 반영하고, 이를 실무에서 효과적으로 현실화한 직원들의 노력 덕분”이라며 “앞으로도 지속 가능한 양질의 일자리 창출과 고용 안정으로 군민이 행복한 영덕을 만들겠다”고 말했다.
