이날 협의회에는 박형수 국회의원을 비롯해 김광열 영덕군수, 김성호 영덕군의회 의장과 군의원들, 황재철 경북도의원, 영덕군 실무 공무원 등 50여 명이 참석해 지역 주요 현안과 국비 지원 전략을 심도 있게 다뤘다.
영덕군은 이날 회의에서 지난 3월 말 발생한 대형 산불의 피해 복구 현황을 공유하고, △어촌신활력 증진사업 △금진1리 자연재해위험개선지구 정비 △영덕정수장 노후시설 개선 △소규모 하수처리시설 분류식화 사업 △국가민속문화재 괴시마을 정비 등 12개 주요 사업에 대한 국비 지원 필요성을 설명하며 정부 차원의 적극적인 지원을 요청했다.
특히 이번 협의회에서는 산불 피해 지역의 조속한 복구와 함께 지역경제 회복 및 중장기 성장기반 마련을 위한 전략적 국비 확보 방안이 집중 논의됐다. 박 의원과 영덕군은 긴밀한 공조를 바탕으로 국비 예산 확보에 총력을 기울이기로 뜻을 모았다.
박형수 의원은 “국회 예산결산특별위원회 간사로서 영덕군의 복구와 발전을 위해 실질적인 도움이 될 수 있도록 예산 확보에 최선을 다하겠다”며 “중앙정부와의 예산 협의 과정에서 영덕군과 지속적으로 소통하겠다”고 밝혔다.
김광열 군수는 “산불 피해 이후 시급한 지역 현안을 중심으로 국비 지원을 요청했다”며 “이번 협의회를 계기로 영덕의 재건과 미래 준비에 더욱 박차를 가하고, 구체적인 성과로 이어지도록 적극 협력하겠다”고 말했다.

Governor Kim Gwang-yeol said, “We requested national funding to focus on urgent local issues following the wildfire damage,” and added, “We will actively cooperate to further accelerate the reconstruction and future preparation of Yeongdeok through this meeting and to ensure that it leads to concrete results.”
