【브레이크뉴스 예천】이성현 기자=국립경국대학교(총장 정태주) 예천캠퍼스 평생교육원이 운영 중인 ‘경북도민행복대학 명예학사·명예석사 과정’ 수강생들이 지난 12일 청남홀에서 ‘APEC 2025 KOREA’의 성공 개최를 기원하는 캠페인 활동을 펼쳤다.

이번 캠페인은 한국이 20년 만에 다시 APEC(아시아태평양경제협력체) 정상회의 의장국으로 나서는 2025년을 앞두고, APEC의 중장기 비전인 푸트라자야 비전 2040의 실현을 위한 국민적 관심과 지지를 촉구하기 위해 마련됐다. 특히 ‘연결(Connect)’, ‘혁신(Innovate)’, ‘번영(Prosper)’이라는 대한민국의 3대 정책 방향을 중심으로, 아시아태평양 지역의 포용적이고 지속가능한 발전에 기여하고자 하는 의지를 지역민들과 함께 나누는 시간이 됐다.
‘경북도민행복대학 명예학사·명예석사과정’은 경상북도와 예천군, 국립경국대학교가 협력해 운영하는 신중년 대상 평생교육 프로그램으로, 예천을 비롯한 북부권역 지역 주민 약 80명이 참여하고 있다. 수강생들은 도정 철학을 공유하고, 지역과 함께 성장하는 학습공동체를 만들어가는 데에 중점을 두고 있다.
이 과정의 학우들은 지난 5월에도 ESG 실천의 일환으로 환경정화 봉사활동을 펼친 데 이어, 수료 후에는 독거노인과 거동 불편 어르신을 위한 지속적인 돌봄 활동을 계획하며 ‘발관리사’ 및 ‘치매진단 자격’ 취득을 위한 특별교육 과정에도 열의를 보이고 있다.
손병기 명예석사과정 학생회장은 “우리 지역과 사회를 위해 애쓰는 분들에게 작지만 진심 어린 응원을 전할 수 있어 뜻깊은 시간이었다”며, “앞으로도 지역사회에 기여할 수 있는 다양한 활동을 꾸준히 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
안병윤 국립경국대학교 공공부총장은 “바쁜 일상 속에서도 교육에 대한 열정으로 참여하고 있는 학우들에게 감사드리며, 이번 캠페인을 통해 APEC 2025의 성공을 함께 기원하게 돼 더욱 의미 있었다”며 “도민행복대학의 자발적인 사회환원 활동이 지속될 수 있도록 적극적으로 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The ‘Gyeongbuk Provincial Happiness University Honorary Bachelor’s and Master’s Program’ is a lifelong education program for middle-aged and older adults operated in cooperation between Gyeongsangbuk-do, Yecheon-gun, and Kyungkuk University. Approximately 80 residents of the northern region, including Yecheon, are participating. The students focus on sharing the philosophy of the provincial government and creating a learning community that grows together with the region.
In May, students in this program also carried out environmental cleanup volunteer activities as part of their ESG practices. After completing the program, they plan to continue providing care to the elderly who live alone and those with mobility difficulties. They are also showing enthusiasm in special education courses to obtain ‘foot care worker’ and ‘dementia diagnosis qualifications.’
