또한 산사태 재해로부터 안전한 전남을 만들기 위해 2025년 산사태 예방을 위한 사방예산 534억 원으로 역대 최다액을 확보했다
전남은 이날 시상에서는 2024년 산사태 재해방지 우수사례 공모에서 최우수상(농림부장관 표창)과 우수상(산림청장 표창), 제7회 친환경 사방시설 우수사례 공모에서 우수상(한국치산기술협회장 표창) 등을 받았다.
산사태 재해방지 분야 최우수상을 받은 해남군은 장기간 방치된 산지일시사용허가지(폐광산)를 행정대집행을 통해 친환경적으로 복구해 주민 불편 해소와 산사태 예방을 위해 노력한 점이 높은 평가를 받았다.
우수상을 받은 광양시는 산사태 재해예방을 위한 선제적 주민 대피 시 일시적 생활 불편 해소를 위해 구호물품과 방수파우치를 보급한 사례가 전국에서 유일한 독창적 사례라는 호평을 받았다.
친환경 사방시설 분야 우수상을 받은 해남군은 2021년 시설한 산림유역관리사업으로 목재데크를 활용한 경관 향상, 깃대봉 등산로와 연결한 친수공간 조성 등이 좋은 반응을 받았다.

전남도는 기후위기 시대 계속되는 돌발성, 국지성 집중호우 증가로 산사태 발생 위험성이 높아짐에 따라 2025년 사방사업 확대를 산림청에 적극 건의해 전국에서 가장 많은 534억 원의 예산을 확보했다.
또 재해예방 효과가 가장 높은 사방댐의 경우 올해(42개소)보다 2배 이상 많은 111개소의 사업량을 확보했다.
