지난 20일에 이어 21일 싱가포르 마리나 베이 샌즈에서 열린 ‘디즈니 콘텐츠 쇼케이스 2024’는 오는 2025년과 그 이후 극장 개봉작 및 스트리밍 예정작을 미리 만나볼 수 있는 이벤트다. 이날 현장에는 한국을 비롯해 싱가포르, 일본, 중국, 홍콩, 대만, 인도네시아, 말레이시아, 필리핀, 태국, 베트남, 호주 등 아태지역 12개국에서 500명이 넘는 언론 및 파트너가 참석했다.

‘디즈니 콘텐츠 쇼케이스 2024’ 둘째 날인 21일 행사에서는 FX 쇼군, 디즈니+ 한국·일본 콘텐츠 라인업이 공개돼 전 세계 팬들의 기대감을 상승시켰다.
이날 캐롤 초이 월트디즈니 컴퍼니 아태지역 오리지널 콘텐츠 전략 총괄 겸 재팬 대표는 무대에 올라 “영광스럽게 아태지역 콘텐츠 부분을 시작할 수 있어 기쁘다. 3년 전 오리지널 콘텐츠 프로덕션을 아태지역에서 하겠다는 포부를 밝혔는데, 업계의 반응은 놀라울 정도로 긍정적이었다. 저희의 비교적 짧은 여정 동안 탄생한 아태지역 콘텐츠들이 큰 사랑을 받았는데, 디즈니 관계자들과 오리지널 창작자들에게 박수를 보내고 싶다”고 밝혔다.

특히 이날 ‘디즈니 콘텐츠 쇼케이스 2024’에서는 한국 콘텐츠로 로운·신예은 주연 디즈니+ 첫 사극 시리즈 <탁류>, 지창욱·도경수(엑소 디오)·이광수·조윤수 주연 오리지널 시리즈 <조각도시>, 전지현·강동원·존 조 등이 출연하는 <북극성>, 현빈·정우성 주연 범죄 드라마 <메이드 인 코리아>가 최초로 소개됐다.
