【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=제천시탁구협회에서 주최한 ‘제1회 제천의림지배 전국오픈 탁구대회’가 지난 5월 17일부터 19일까지 3일간 제천체육관에서 개최되었다.
이번 대회는 라지볼 부문과 일반볼 부문으로 나뉘어 개최되었으며, 전국 각지에서 900여 명의 선수가 방문하여 열띤 경쟁을 펼쳤다.
세부종목으로 라지볼은 단체전과 개인전, 일반부는 혼성단체전·개인단식·개인복식부로 나뉘어 개최되었으며, 특히 국내 최초로 세계 최대의 탁구 브랜드 ㈜다마스버터플라이코리아의 후원을 받아 개최된 첫 대회이다.
제천시 관계자는 “제천은 2024 국제오픈 유소년 탁구대회, 한국대학탁구연맹전, 전국어머니탁구대회 및 전국어린이탁구대회 등 수많은 탁구대회가 개최되어 왔고 또 개최될 예정이었지만 제천시탁구협회에서 직접 개최한 탁구대회는 처음이었다”며, “그럼에도 제천의 탁구 관계자들과 전국의 탁구인들의 관심과 성원에 힘입어 성공적으로 대회를 마무리할 수 있었다.”라고 말하며 대회에 참가한 선수들과 관계자들께 감사를 전했다.
