(해남=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=명현관(사진) 전남 해남군수가 해남 대표농수산식품 수출 협의 및 H-Mart 업무협약 등을 위해 9일 미국 방문길에 오른다.
명군수는 15일까지 5박 7일간 일정으로 미국 샌프란시스코와 뉴욕을 오가며, 해남 농수산식품 수출확대를 위한 업무협약 체결과 남도음식 홍보행사 참여, 수출상담 등을 진행할 예정이다.
특히 12일에는 전남도-미국 H마트와 농수산식품 수출확대와 상생협력 모델 발굴을 위한 업무협약을 체결한다.
미국내 98개 매장을 가진 최대 한인 마트인 H마트는 지난해 처음으로 해남배추 1,000톤을 수입, 캐나다 매장에서 판매함으로써 해남배추의 미주지역 진출의 물꼬를 튼 바 있다.
이번 업무협약은 미국내 H마트 매장으로 전남 농수산식품을 입점해 수출을 확대하고, 우수 농수산 수출제품의 발굴을 논의하기 위해 마련한 자리로, 업무협약식 후에는 뉴욕문화원 주관으로 해남 절임배추와 영암 김치양념을 이용한 남도김치 담그기 시연과 시식 행사도 열린다.
특히 해남군은 H마트 업무협약 외에도 미국 뉴프론티어푸드 본사를 방문해 해남쌀과 해남김에 대한 수출협의도 진행한다.
뉴트런티어푸드는 아시아에서 생산되는 김, 쌀, 면 등을 활용해 현지인의 기호에 맞는 혁신적인 제품들을 선보이며 돌풍을 일으킨 기업이다.
특히 유기농 식품브랜드인 오션스 헤일로의 김스낵 제품이 큰 인기를 끌면서 미국 내 김 해초시장 판매량 1위를 달성하기도 했다.
